the girl probably hasn’t got institutions the size of the Met and the IPCC to defend her honour, has she?

Although she does now have The Mighty Max Clifford behind her.

I suppose I've made assumptions re: what she was doing there in the first place (demonstrating against the evils of The Man and Money and Gold and the Developed World). There seems to be a hypocrisy in there somewhere, which would be off-putting. My assumptions are just that - impressions made from a fleeting glimpse at a photo. She could be a doll. She could be just like me. Or she could be a hypocrite.

But more to the point of your post ... yes, the language the BBC uses is interesting in it's inconsistency. (or biased consistency?!)

Is there anything to be skeptical about? The girl has seen an opportunity that might make her some money.

Would I do it? I like to think not but then, if someone waved a load of money under my nose it would be tempting.

Although people will be disappointed with her for whatever their reasons, it's a bit different to selling your kiss & tell story or a stuff about your mate that's suddenly got famous.

No, she doesn't have those institutions behind her, but she's gotten one helluva publicist (same one as the chick who hooked up - allegedly - with Mr. Beckham in Madrid). I'm highly skeptical of both sides.

He's in the wrong alright, I'm just drawing the analogy that mnay are using this as an excuse to destroy the police, that's all.

I think he's from Leeds but I could be wrong.

I don't get it, I think I've missed your point.
Besides shooting is a bit strong. How about slightly irritated?

The post is about the fact that the copper clearly gives the girl a slap and hits here legs with his baton.

She is clearly getting shouting at the officer, what she is saying, I don't know, but I'm not making out she was praising his chooice of footwear.

The BBC chooses to preface the policemans actions with 'appears' and 'apparently'. No different to the use of 'allegedly'.

Yet the woman, whos' activity is the most ambigious, is definately swearing at the copper.
