Just in case anyone wants them, and the Mail decides they’re not needed, all 8 pages of comments on Jan Moirs Stephen Gately column are here as of the time of this post. There’s nearly 800 comments and the Mail splits them in to pages of 100. The .jpg files are still quite big.
Help yourself.

Trafigura, Carter Ruck and a sock stuffed in a mouth
October 13th, 2009 § 0 comments § permalink
The Guardian has had a legal sock stuff in their mouth by those champions of justice Carter-Fuck on behalf of Trafigura…
The Guardian has been prevented from reporting parliamentary proceedings on legal grounds which appear to call into question privileges guaranteeing free speech established under the 1688 Bill of Rights.
Today’s published Commons order papers contain a question to be answered by a minister later this week. The Guardian is prevented from identifying the MP who has asked the question, what the question is, which minister might answer it, or where the question is to be found.
The Guardian is also forbidden from telling its readers why the paper is prevented – for the first time in memory – from reporting parliament. Legal obstacles, which cannot be identified, involve proceedings, which cannot be mentioned, on behalf of a client who must remain secret.
The only fact the Guardian can report is that the case involves the London solicitors Carter-Ruck, who specialise in suing the media for clients, who include individuals or global corporations
I am absolutely staggered that a court would give such an order.
Alex Massie in the Spectator reckons he knows what the question is and the gagging order is to try and suppress this report.
This gagging order may not go right to the heart of Parliamentary privilige, which alllows an MP to speak in the house without fear of being prosecution or legal action, but it punctures a lung of an open parliament.
It may be the case that groups and individuals may be barred from being named, granted anonymity, in the reporting of parliament for reasons of national security, but to have that applied purely for commercial reasons is disgusting.
An open, freely reported parliament is essential for a smoothly run and corruption-free (as far as possible) democracy.
Something has gone very, very wrong.
I also found this at Sweeney* Maddison, the judge that approved/passed/whatever-it’s-called the order needs his arse kicking about this, too.
*apologies to Mr Justice Sweeney there.
On Gordon Brown and his eyesight
October 12th, 2009 § 1 comment § permalink
What the fucks all this fuss about Gordon Browns’ eyesight?
Ok, it’s unfortunate that someone has trouble with an eye, especially after losing sight in the other, but unless that person is a bus driver, lab technician or has a sight critical job, what does it matter with regard being able to effectively discharge his duties?
It would be different if Gordon was in hospital having a check on his heart because of palpatations, then it might be excusable, but fucking eyes?
The cabinet and opposition have defended Gordon, which is nice, but they shouldn’t have to. If they are defending Gordons physical ability to be PM, as apposed to his actual skills and experiences to do the job, then who is barking on about it being a problem? The press most likely.
Stuff like this the politicians should tell the press to fuck off with stupid fucking questions, and the press themselves should stop asking the fucking things in the first place. Any excuse to smear someone, even when it’s irrelevent.
By questioning Browns ability to do a job with any real power, the ability of blind and partially sighted people to work are being called into question.
Although Blunkett may be a cunt and was a fucking nightmare of a home secretary, would anyone have dared to question his right to hold the position of home secretary because a dog tells him where to stand when crossing the road?
My own little letter writing campaign

I don’t need to tell you about the shit that Tim has had to go through whilst investigating the Glen Jenvey/Sun/Jewish hit list story, do I?
Good.
Well, Tim has asked for a hand, writing to your MP about the behaviour Patrick Mercer.
Here is my letter, via WriteToThem.com to Dr Evan Harris…
Dear Evan Harris,
I am writing because I have a friend who could do with some help.
I’m sure you remember the story about a Jewish hit-list that appeared on an Islamic internet forum and was reported by the Sun newspaper. The list featured prominent names such as Alan Sugar, Mark Ronson and David Milliband.
The story was provided to be the Sun by discredited freelance spy Glen Jenvey and subsequently, it has been proved to be a false story. The Sun has now apologised.
It was my friend, Tim Ireland, that proved the story was untrue. In the course of and as a result of his work, in his free time as he is not any sort of journalist, in getting to the bottom of this story he has had to endure a lot of stress and worry. This includes being smeared as a stalker, being mentally unstable and a peadophile. Tim has had his ex-directory phone number and his address published on the internet and also had veiled threats against his family.
Nearly all the threats and smears are as a result of the actions of Patrick Mercer MP (Conservative, Newark & Retford) or his staff.
If Patrick and his staff had behaved differently, the whole ordeal would’ve gone differently and the threats/smears would’nt have arisen or at the very least, Tim would’ve had to endure them for a shorter time.
How you can help, Dr Harris, is to take the time to read the two following articles by Tim that will explain things better than I could:
http://www.bloggerheads.com/archives/2009/09/patrick_mercer_boom.asp
http://www.bloggerheads.com/archives/2009/09/suburban_jihad.asp
and then ask Patrick Mercer what the bloody hell he’s playing at.
Yours sincerely
Is the BBC switching sides?
September 11th, 2009 § 1 comment § permalink
What’s going on with the BBC, then?
I was under the impression that it was a leftist propaganda machine that was run by the UK arm of some international communist organisation.
That’s the impression given by some on the web, anyway.
But now, not only does it hate Jews, it is a big business/capitalist apologist and nazi sympathiser.
If the BBC keeps going in the way it is at the moment, it’s gonna end up making Fux News look like Socialist Worker.
Question Time and the BNP
September 6th, 2009 § 0 comments § permalink
You might possibly have seen this in todays’ Times…
THE BBC has provoked controversy by giving the British National party a platform for the first time on Question Time, its top current affairs programme.
This development, I think, is inevitable. Now that the BNP has gone and got itself a couple of elected representatives to a higher office than a local government position I don’t see how the BBC can refuse to have either Fat Nick or Andrew Brons it’s flagship political discussion programme without being accused of taking sides, of being political.
Forget what the BNP actually stands for for a minute and just compare them to UKIP in terms of their representation.
UKIP only has MEPs’. They do not have an elected representative in the House of Commons. UKIP appear on Question Time. The BNP only have MEPs’. They do not have anyone in the House, either. They will now appear on Question Time, but just like UKIP, only occassionally.
“They got across a threshold that has given them national representation and that fact will be reflected in the level of coverage they will be given,” said Ric Bailey, the BBC’s chief adviser on politics. “This is not a policy about the BNP. It’s a policy about impartiality.”
Whether we like it or not, the BBC cannot do ‘No Platform’.

The Sun on Afghanistan and Gordon Brown
August 28th, 2009 § 0 comments § permalink
As an Editor of the Sun Lies blog I get to bask in the reflected glory of this post from Scepticisle…
it [The Sun] seems a little hazy on history as well, as this passage from the editorial makes plain:
Mr Brown has taken the country to war but is ducking responsibility for the conduct of it. The tradition of our country is that in wartime, the Prime Minister takes charge.
Lloyd George led us in World War One and Winston Churchill in World War Two.
Margaret Thatcher led from the front in the triumphant Falklands War in 1982.
John Major took charge in the first Gulf War of 1991. Tony Blair assumed full responsibility when we invaded Iraq to topple Saddam. And he did the same over the liberation of Kosovo.
Except Gordon Brown hasn’t taken the country in Afghanistan; Tony Blair did, in 2001. We’ve been there ever since. Brown as chancellor provided the funds for the war, it’s quite true, but was not personally responsible for taking us there. He also wasn’t prime minister when we entered Helmand in 2006: the defence secretary then was John Reid, who famously said he hoped that we would leave without firing a single shot. Then there’s the fact that we’re there in the country, not just on our own, but as part of the ISAF NATO coalition. Additionally, if we’re going to split hairs, Winston Churchill didn’t lead us into WW2; Neville Chamberlain did. The war in Afghanistan is also not, in any meaningful sense, a war with specific aims like all of those the Sun lists. It’s far more comparable to what we were doing in Iraq from the fall of Saddam up until our exit this year: peacekeeping, reconstruction and providing security. Missions, like Operation Panther’s Claw, which had the specific aim of clearing out Taliban so that people could vote in the presidential election, have been few and far between. As also argued above, we are quite clearly not in “wartime”.
I would like to post the lot, but that would be a little too much, I think. So, go and read the rest
Times, they’re a-changing

Up until 1.23am 17 August 2009 this URL http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1206618/Extremist-banned-entering-UK-BNP-festival.html took you to this story [click to enlarge]….

After that time it now looks like this [again, click to enlarge]…

The pictures are the same but the words have been changed. In fact, the words have been changed so much you could say it is a completely different article.
And as such, the comments below the first draft were irrelevant to the second and so could be removed. At least I think that’s the reason. Couldn’t be anything to do with the invasion of racist fucks in the comments, could it?
